Prior to X-energy, Mr. Dean was an Associate Partner in McKinsey & Company’s energy practice focused on energy transition strategy, operational transformation, and customer strategy and operations topics for utilities, renewables players, industry service providers, and financial investors. He began his career as an engineer on the nuclear plant development team at Duke Energy.

Bobby Dean is Vice President of Projects Strategy & Finance at X-energy where he serves as the business strategy and finance lead for the development and deployment of the company’s first reactor projects. Additionally, he is responsible for the commercial capabilities and services that X-energy offers to customers. He brings over 15 years of experience in the energy and power sectors.

 Mr. Dean has earned a Master of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He resides in Bethesda with his wife and young children.
