Edward Schinner

Vice President, Program Manager, Project Long Mott

Ed Schinner is a veteran nuclear energy leader with more than three decades of experience in plant operations, engineering, and project execution across the commercial nuclear sector. He currently serves as Vice President and Program Manager for X-energy’s first commercial deployment of the Xe-100 reactor. In this role, he leads integrated engineering and execution efforts to bring X-energy’s pioneering technology to market.

He began his career as a design engineer and power plant engineer at Baltimore Gas & Electric and Constellation, where he also served as the Emergency Preparedness Director and Technical Assistant to the President.  Over the next two decades, he held leadership positions at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear were Plant, including General Supervisor of Engineering, Senior Reactor Operator, Shift Operations Superintendent, and Senior Manager of Plant Engineering, where he led critical functions across engineering, operations, chemistry and radwaste. Before joining X-energy, Ed was Senior Manager of Maintenance Execution at Constellation, responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable execution of plant maintenance activities.

Ed joined X-energy in 2022 as Maintenance Manager and went on to serve as Director of Operations and Maintenance before assuming his current role. He received his bachelor's and master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, as well as an MBA from Loyola University Maryland. He currently resides in Maryland with his wife, Deborah, and has four sons.
