Bobby Dean

Bobby Dean brings over 16 years of experience in the energy and power sectors to X-energy. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Dean was an Associate Partner in McKinsey & Company’s energy practice focused on energy transition strategy, operational transformation, and customer strategy and operations topics for utilities, renewables players, industry service providers, and financial investors. He began his career as an engineer in advanced nuclear development at Duke Energy.

Mr. Dean is Vice President of Growth & Strategy at X-energy where he serves as the business strategy and finance lead for the development and deployment of the company’s first reactor projects. Additionally, he is responsible for corporate strategy, corporate development, and the execution of key strategic initiatives for the company.

Mr. Dean has earned a Master of Business Administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He resides in Bethesda with his wife and young children.
