Alistair leads X-energy’s business in the United Kingdom, where he is responsible for shaping the company’s strategy, partnerships, and project delivery across the UK market. His work focuses on laying the foundations for X-energy’s first UK deployments and establishing advanced nuclear technology as a key driver of industrial decarbonisation, energy security, and regional economic growth.

Alistair joined X-energy with extensive experience in commercial management, financial governance, project controls, and risk management across large-scale, highly regulated infrastructure programmes. His background spans both operational and strategic leadership roles, with a particular focus on the delivery of complex nuclear projects.

Prior to joining the company, Alistair spent nearly ten years with the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) in the United Arab Emirates. During this time, he contributed to the successful construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant—the first nuclear power station in the Arab world. His work at ENEC strengthened his capability in programme integration, regulatory engagement, and the management of multi-billion-dollar nuclear megaprojects.

Alistair’s experience in the UAE also deepened his understanding of the organisational, commercial, and technical interfaces required to deliver first-of-a-kind nuclear programmes. This international perspective now informs his leadership of X-energy’s UK activities, where he works closely with government, industry, and regional partners to advance the deployment of the Xe-100 high-temperature gas-cooled reactor.

Alistair is a Chartered Management Accountant, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
