Clean Water
Similar to our fight to significantly lower carbon emissions, the world is facing another pair of challenges that are in direct opposition to each other.
A fifth of the global population does not have access to clean drinking water and according to UNESCO the freshwater shortfall worldwide will rise to 500 trillion gallons/yr by 2025. As the global population continues to grow, demand for safe drinking water will be in direct parallel. At the same time, global freshwater sources continue to decline.
Nuclear power can cleanly scale to address this shortfall.
