Sean Miers

Sean Miers serves as Vice President, Project Engineering at X-energy, bringing extensive experience in nuclear engineering leadership, reactor operations, and large-scale project execution to support the development and deployment of the Xe-100 small modular reactor.

Prior to X-energy, Mr. Miers spent nearly seven years at GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy, most recently serving as General Manager, Engineering from 2021 to 2026, where he led the engineering organization supporting advanced reactor development and nuclear service projects. He previously held roles as Engineering Manager and Senior System Engineer at GE Power & Water, where he provided technical leadership across multiple reactor systems and engineering disciplines.

Over his career, Mr. Miers has accumulated more than two decades of hands-on nuclear operations experience in roles spanning Shift Manager, Control Room Supervisor, and Shift Technical Advisor at Progress Energy’s Brunswick Nuclear Plant from 2008 to 2015. In this role, he held NRC licenses authorizing operation of the facility and was responsible for directing Main Control Room activities and conducting engineering evaluations during transient conditions. From 2006 to 2008, he served as Senior Reactor Operator and Shift Technical Advisor at Exelon’s Limerick Generating Station, and earlier held roles including Senior Reactor Operator at Limerick and Peach Bottom Generating Stations and Equipment Operator at Limerick Generating Station.

Mr. Miers began his nuclear career in the U.S. Navy as a Reactor Operator and Electronic Technician, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison University.
