Alan Ho

Vice President, Chief Procurement Officer

Alan Ho serves as X-energy’s Chief Procurement Officer and Vice President Procurement Supply Chain. His career spans more than 40 years in major company executive positions. 

Prior to X-energy, he redesigned or been responsible for supply chain management for Exelon, Constellation Energy, Ontario Power Generation, UniStar and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).  His experience includes mature commercial ventures as well as new nuclear start-ups. Most recently, he built the Procurement Supply Chain organization for Nawah, the nuclear operating company for ENEC.

For the first 15 years of his career, he was a consulting engineer and performed detailed FEM analysis on BWR & PWR containments including seismic, fluid/soil structure interaction, pool hydrodynamics, hydrogen explosion, and containment ultimate burst pressure analyses, as a result of TMI. Also, during construction, he evaluated structural integrity of the basemat and containment for large voids. In addition, he supported the analysis and construction of Control Rod Drive Mechanisms and Drywell and Wet-well structural steel at LaSalle County Station and Clinton Power Station. He was also on the team responsible for resolving NRC issues with embedded concrete anchors and co-authored a software program to automate calculations for baseplate analysis and design.

He has a Science Master’s in Structural Engineering from MIT, where he was a Teaching Assistant for graduate and undergraduate classes in Structural Analysis, and Analysis and Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures. He was also a Research Assistant specializing in Earthquake Engineering, dynamic analysis, explosive and impactive loading. Thesis: Determination of Earthquake Intensities from Chimney Damage Reports.

He also has B. Architecture Cum Laud from University of Illinois Chicago, where for four years, he was Teaching Assistant for Structural Analysis. Thesis: Structural Analysis; became the curriculum material for four Structural Analysis courses.
