Thomas Nixon, Senior Vice President, Reactors, oversees engineering, licensing, training, and construction activities for X-energy’s Xe-100 advanced small nuclear reactor. His team of engineers works to prepare X-energy’s technology for the market. A well-seasoned engineer himself, Thomas brings decades of experience in the civil field.
Thomas spent more than 30 years at Bechtel Engineering where he started as a civil engineer and worked his way to various leadership positions. During his time at Bechtel, he was responsible for directing and delivering some of the most visible and critical nuclear construction projects in recent history. Most notably, he oversaw a team that was responsible for developing the first advanced nuclear reactor. After leaving Bechtel, Thomas led Google’s global data center expansion strategy, giving Thomas a firm grasp on the international and technology space that X-Energy operates in.
Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Michigan State University. He is a licensed professional engineer.
